Since its founding in 1957, the University of Hartford has attracted students and faculty who change the world in meaningful ways. UHart is a diverse institution with a global reach, as students from approximately 50 countries come to study at one of its seven distinctive schools and colleges every year.
The 350-acre campus, with a branch of the Park River winding through it, sits at the crossroads of Hartford, Connecticut’s capital city, and the vibrant towns of West Hartford and Bloomfield. Boston and New York City are two hours away, and New England’s beaches, mountains and cultural attractions are easily accessible.

Mission & VisionFlipping the Script to Empower Young Girls in Developing Countries
For most children in The Gambia, finding illustrated storybooks with characters that look like and connect to them is difficult. Nearly 12 years ago, YaAdam Fye A’06, ’07 worked with her mother Lucy and sister Anna, to create the Fye Network. With this business, they promote literacy in The Gambia and the importance of creating children’s books with identities that are relatable to the children themselves. So far, the network has published three book series
