Since its founding in 1957, the University of Hartford has attracted students and faculty who change the world in meaningful ways. UHart is a diverse institution with a global reach, as students from approximately 50 countries come to study at one of its seven distinctive schools and colleges every year.
The 350-acre campus, with a branch of the Park River winding through it, sits at the crossroads of Hartford, Connecticut’s capital city, and the vibrant towns of West Hartford and Bloomfield. Boston and New York City are two hours away, and New England’s beaches, mountains and cultural attractions are easily accessible.
The national and global contributions of University of Hartford alumni — a community of more than 85,000 and counting — reflect the wide range of academic disciplines offered by the institution’s schools and colleges. UHart graduates are engineers, scientists, professional athletes, and performing artists. They are health professionals, journalists, educators, and entrepreneurs.
Our seven dynamic schools share a common focus: helping students partner their passion with their dream profession. And because we’re a campus of unique individuals who don’t all see the world the same way, we value difference. Our multiple perspectives make us better listeners and more thoughtful doers.
UHart offers the best of both worlds: a tree-lined campus in a state capital two hours from Boston and NYC.

Nearly 12 years ago, YaAdam Fye A’06, ’07 worked with her mother Lucy and sister Anna, to create the Fye Network. With this business, they promote literacy in The Gambia and the importance of creating children’s books with identities that are relatable to the children themselves. So far, the network has published three book series
“It was with the empowering support and guidance from my Hillyer professors that I today continue to think outside of the box, take calculated risks, and learn from both my successes and failures.” —YaAdam Fye A’06, ’07
